The Jorge Mara \u2022 La Ruche Gallery, inaugurated in late 2001, is a new space continuing the tradition of the existing Jorge Mara gallery held in Buenos Aires in the 1980s, and the one exhibiting in Madrid from 1990-98.
Following the program of the previous galleries, the new space spotlights the work of emerging artists, as well as exhibitions focused on distinctive aspects of established artists active in mid twentieth century Argentinean and Latin
American art Exhibits in Spain in the \u201890s include: \u201cMillares sobre papel\u201d; \u201cFeito a\u00f1o 1960\u201d; \u201cGuerrero en Nueva York\u201d; \u201cHenri Michaux\u201d; \u201cMark Tobey\u201d; \u201cBen Nicholson\u201d; \u201cRafael Barradas\u201d; \u201cEstrada\u201d; \u201c Washington Barcala\u201d; \u201cZoran Music\u201d, among
others. Selected exhibitions held in Argentina in the \u201880s include: \u201cAlfredo Guttero\u201d; \u201cAizenberg y el Surrealismo\u201d; \u201cLa Nueva Figuraci\u00f3n: De la Vega, Maccio, Deira, Noe\u201d.
The following artists have been exhibited in the new space in Buenos Aires: Fernando Allievi, Carlos Arnaiz, Marcolina Dipierro, Roberto El\u00eda, Estrada, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Fern\u00e1ndez- Muro, Le\u00f3n Ferrari, Sarah Grilo, Alfredo Hlito, Kirin, Macaparana, Luc\u00eda Mara, Amalia Nieto, Kv\u011bta Pacovsk\u00e1 , C\u00e9sar Paternosto, Ana Sacerdote, Kazuya Sakai, Fidel Sclavo, Eduardo Stup\u00eda and Carola Zech, all of whom have exhibited abroad and are represented by us.
We also represent the work of two outstanding photographers: Grete Stern and Horacio Coppola.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have mounted joint exhibitions with The Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA); Instituto Moreira Salles in Brazil; Fundaci\u00f3n Telef\u00f3nica in Spain, C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid in Spain; Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno (IVAM), in Valencia, Spain. In 2012 Eduardo Stup\u00eda was chosen to participate at The S\u00e2o Pablo Biennal where he presented a wide selection of over 70 works from the last two decades.
In 2015, The Museum of Modern Art, (MoMA), in New York presented \u201cFrom Bauhaus to Buenos Aires: Grete Stern and Horacio Coppola\u201d, a retrospective exhibition accompanied by a comprehensive catalogue. In 2017, Grilo\u2019s work featured in the \u201cMaking Space: Women Artists and Postwar Abstraction\u201d exhibition atThe Museum of Modern Art, (MoMA), in New York.
